Longer BART Trains for Thanksgiving Holidays

BART will run longer trains on Wednesday – the heavy travel day before Thanksgiving – and the Black Friday shopping day as well as on Sunday, when travelers return home. Thanksgiving Day will see a Sunday schedule.

BART announced today, Tuesday, that it will run longer trains on three days during the Thanksgiving holidays:

On Wednesday, Nov. 27, traditionally the busiest day of the year, the transit agency will have longer trains on the Pittsburg/Bay Point (yellow) line, which serves San Francisco International Airport. Longer trains will run on line also on Sunday, Dec. 1, when many air travelers return home.

On Nov. 28, the busy Black Friday shopping day, BART "will significantly increase the number of available seats by making trains as long as possible," the agency said. "Full-length trains will operate from 6 am to close of service for bargain hunters looking for extra room to carry their bags of gifts onboard."

BART will operate on a Sunday schedule on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 28, with service beginning around 8 a.m., the agency said.
