Planning and Zoning to Discuss New Wireless Antennas on Solano

At its meeting in on Wednesday evening, Albany’s Planning and Zoning Commission will review an application for an array of 12 wireless antennas on the roof of a cafe on Solano Avenue.

According to the proposal, the AT&T antennas will be concealed behind a cupola added to the roof of the Sunnyside Cafe at 1495 Solano Avenue.

Here are the details from the city planner’s report to the commission: The new enclosure is proposed to be located 41 ft. off of the edge of off the eastern edge of the building and 21 ft. off of the western edge of the building. The new antenna enclosure is located 7’8” behind the existing mansard roof. The previous rooftop overage was previously 411 sq. ft. and covered 7% of the roof. The revised design is 280 sq. ft. and has a rooftop coverage of 5%.
