Albany High Website 'Hacked' – Cougar Fans Implicated

Was it hacked? The official Albany High School website was replaced this morning by a photo of a sparse crowd in the school gym and an exhortation to come support the girls' volleyball team in their playoff game tonight, Wednesday.

A surprise greeted those signing onto the Albany High School website this morning, Wednesday.

Instead of the usual potpourri of announcements and links for various school programs, events, etc., there was large photo of the bleachers in the gym with only a few people seated on them.

"Pride or Hide?" appeared in large red letters.

There was also a message lamenting the low turn-out for last week's volleyball championship game, in which the girls' team took the Tri-County Athletic League title, and urging fans to show up for tonight's beginning round play-off game in the North Coast Section tournament.

The Cougars' face Eureka High School at 7 p.m. in the Albany High gym.

An inside source told Patch that the changed homepage, which appears to have been hacked, was an inside job.

The text on the "hacked" page says:

"In case you forgot, this is OUR HOUSE. But you wouldn't have been able to tell at the volleyball playoff game last week. That's okay though. Seriously. We're fine. These girls are TOUGH. But Eureka High School is driving FOUR HOURS to beat us. How many fans does it take to quiet FOUR HOURS of rage? How many fans does it take for people to understand that COUGARS DON'T HIDE?"
