The community meeting on budget priorities by the school board of the Albany Unified School District has been rescheduled from May 28 to June 4.

A community meeting with the school board on budget priorities for Albany schools has been rescheduled from May 28 to June 4.

The Albany Unified School District board is inviting feedback from the public and school community on program improvement and/or restoration, facilities, parcel tax and other items.

The meeting will be take place at 7-8:30 p.m. at City Hall.

The school district announcement about the meeting says:

The conversation is the 2nd in a series of “information gathering” conversations being hosted by the Board of Education and will focus on parent and community priorities. The first conversation was held with AUSD staff on 4/23/13, and a third conversation will be scheduled in the Fall.

The Board is holding these conversations in response to Governor Brown’s proposed legislation calling for increased school funding over the next seven years. These conversations are being held to prepare for the possibility of a better fiscal picture over the next several years.

The Board values stakeholder input and encourages all parents and community members to attend.
