Decision on Albany 'Ales Unlimited' Outlet Postponed

Those hoping for approval of an Ales Unlimited outlet on Solano Avenue in Albany will have to wait at least another week before the planning commission decides. A lack of a quorum prevented any decision Wednesday night.

The proposal to open an Albany outlet of the San Francisco craft beer store Ales Unlimited was put on temporary hold Wednesday night and will be considered by the city's planning commission next week instead.

The application to open an East Bay outlet of the business at 1501 Solano Ave., next to Fonda Restaurant and across the street from Safeway, was on the Planning & Zoning Commission agenda last night, Wednesday, but it had to be put over to the next meeting on Nov. 20 because of a lack of quorum, said Albany Community Development Director Jeff Bond.

Ales Unlimited, which offers more 850 specialty beers at its San Francisco store, wants to move into the space that formerly housed Five Star Video.
