Albany High Grad Wins College Baseball Honor

Albany High alum Lucas Yovanovich will be honored at an awards banquet Tuesday night as "Community College Pitcher of the Year" in Santa Clara County.

Lucas Yovanovich, who played baseball at Albany High and in the Albany Little League, has been named Community College Pitcher of the Year in Santa Clara County.

Yovanovich, an Albany native who graduated from Albany High in 2012, pitches for De Anza College in Cuperintino. He will receive the award at the annual Santa Clara County Hot Stove Banquet on Jan. 21 at the San Jose Elks Club.

Other baseball standouts also will be honored in various categories at the 30th annual installment of the awards event.
