Cougars Flatten John Swett 52-0 – Albany's 3rd Straight Win
The Cougars varsity football team may have gotten off to an inauspicious start this season but they are finishing in grand style, having trounced John Swett High 52-0 in a home game Friday night.
If there was something broken on the Cougars football team at the beginning of the season, it certainly seems fixed now.
The Albany High varsity squad pummeled John Swett High 52-0 in a home game Friday. It was nearly as lopsided as the Cougars 56-0 rout of De Anza High a week earlier in Albany's homecoming game.
The victory over John Swett was the team's third win in a row, following what had been a dismal 0-7 record until the tide turned on Oct. 25 with a 34-12 defeat of Richmond High.
The team went from scoring less than 10 points on average per game before Oct. 25 to racking up more than 47 on average per game since then.
