The , local neighbors and city arborist Tony Wolcott began to plant and remove weeds from Jackson Street between the Castro Street steps and Hillside Avenue during September 2009.
On June 19, volunteers returned for more weeding and mulching. The next scheduled work day will be Saturday Oct. 16, and the final one is planned for February 2011.
