Ages 7-13 (Ages are suggested. Children may attend classes not in their age range with the approval of the instructor.)
Let's run like an "inu!" "Inu" means "dog" in Japanese. As we run, jump and roll we develop balance, coordination and confidence. Safety comes first so falling is our first skill, followed by wrestling and eventually throwing. With a strong emphasis on cultural learning we play games, sing songs and read books from Japan and practice the discipline and respect expected of true (if small) Japanese martial artists. Note: Participants will be required to become members of US Judo Federation (www.usjf.com), which offers insurance and the privilege to take part in other events. The annual fee is $50.
