Grief Counselors Offered to Albany High Students

After news of classmate Cathy Qiu's death broke Thursday, Albany High School has made grief counselors available to students.

Albany High School issued a statement to students Friday morning about the death of 16-year-old classmate Cathy Qiu.

Students were told that grief counselors would be available to those in need throughout the day, said Albany High School Principal Ted Barone.

"Obviously, it's a tragic event," said Barone. "(W)e're hoping information comes out soon about the cause of death. That will be important" to know."
