Summer Salad Demo at Albany Farmers' Market This Week

The menu of things to do this coming week in Albany includes a demonstration at the Albany Farmers' Market on preparing summer salads. The presentation by nutrition consultant Ilah Jarvis will also included free recipes and samples.

The cooking demonstration this coming Wednesday at the Albany Farmers' Market isn't so much about cooking.

As part of the Ecology Center Farmers' Markets' 2013 Cooking Demonstration Series, nutrition consultant Ilah Jarvis will give a free presentation titled, "Creative Summer Salads." (The farmers' market is sponsored by the Berkeley-based Ecology Center.)

Her demonstration will focus on tomato cucumber salad and melon herb salad and will include free recipes and samples, according to the event announcement.

Jarvis "provides nutrition advice, recipes and lab tests for clients who suffer from digestive issues," the announcement says. "She is a graduate of Bauman college, and emphasizes a practical, personalized approach."
