In Albany Saturday... Free Family Cycling Workshop

The East Bay Bicycling Coalition is hosting a free family cycling workshop 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday at University Village in Albany. It includes "fun games, safety drills, skills building, and a neighborhood ride," plus a blinky light for kids.

"The family that rides together thrives together!" says the East Bay Bicycling Coalition announcement for a family cycling workshop to be held Saturday, Aug. 17, at University Village in Albany.

"Safe road bicycling takes a lot more than balance, a helmet and a good attitude," the organization says.

The free clinic takes place from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at University Village Park (where the basketball courts are located) at Monroe and 10th streets.

Activities include "fun games, safety drills, skills building, and a neighborhood ride," according the event announcement. Kids who participate will receive a free red blinky light, the notice says.

Parents and kids are asked to attend together and to bring their own functioning bikes and helmets.

Those who wish to attend can register on the East Bay Bicycling Coalition website.
