Albany Hill Park
510-524-9283
Albany Hill Park rises 338 feet above sea level and is a local landmark. The park is composed entirely of open space, except for its pleasant eucalyptus-lined rustic trail. The natural value of Albany Hill lies in the surprising richness of its flora and fauna. The park's current flora tally is 134 native plants reported from hill and creek, including two orchids, three different roses and seven kinds of fern. Many of these plants were of great importance to the local Ohlone tribes whose grinding holes remain in the bedrock, such as coast live oak (Quercus agrifolia), California hazelnut (Corylus cornuta var. californica), soap plant (Chlorogalum pomeridianum) and yarrow (Achillea millefolium).
