How are we going to house them? Take a look at rents in all of this area. There are a good manyRead More people on Social Security or who are working that can't afford both rent and food. They fall thru the cracks when it comes to any kind of help. Rent control would help, but not eliminate the problem.

Typical Democrat wanting to spend money like Brown’s crazy train. What is an early warningRead More system.. “brace for shock” ? What we need is an early warning system that warns us before a Democrat / Liberal opens his month.

Rick Crockett July 19, 2014 at 10:38 am
Wow! Talk about Brown-Obama-Democrat Cronyism. Not only can the system be built and installed forRead More less than $500/node, it already has. I helped with one of the nodes with-in the past four years. The system (requiring less than 25 sq.ft. (donated) can be set up similar to a Home WiFi Security Cam with FTP access. Really it can be automatically monitored and maintained for free through a cooperating University. This is merely a $16 million a year hornswoggle going into the crony's pocket. Its dirtier than greedy profit. All that, lying cheating and stealing on top of it. Republicans in office don't deserve to be there because they do not study and know about the communities they represent or what they have already (and recently) funded. They are not doing their jobs in a two party system. Having formerly worked for the DNC the only thing good I can say about democrats is they at least learn their constituencies well enough to manipulate them.

We were very successful in Albany in clearing the Bulb. If you need any help on Gilman give us aRead More ring. The first method is just asking them to leave and most do. Each time we then we escalate our methods as dictated by the rules set down by the Committee. The chances that we ramp up to a 10 is very slight, but if it happens it will happen. Let's work together to make sure it doesn't.

It would just be nice if our California Do Nothing Congress would put their time and efforts intoRead More helping our State with real problems instead of making their constituency feel like they are making a difference with alcohol and marijuana leniency laws. Rochelle Nason was named to the spot opened by the death of Peggy Thompson. Nason received fourRead More votes on the first round. Then there was a tie-breaker ballot to see who would face off with her. After three deadlocked rounds, Mayor Wile switched her vote and Nick Pilch won the run-off. The final tally was Nason 3, Pilch 1. The mayor said her decision was based on his environmental records, which will be important because the waterfront will be a major topic between now and the election.

Suppose that within a mental evaluation for gun purchase, the citizen reveals a deeply held dislikeRead More and distrust of the Government. Note that this law would NOT have stopped the Isla Vista shooting because the parents did NOT callRead More the local mental health agency as well as the police. Note that by failing to check the California gun registry - available in every patrol car - they would not have even considered issuing such an order because they didn't think there were any firearms in the area - and neither did his parents, apparently. I have a lot of questions regarding this case - and one of them is that given junior had been making violent postings for more than a week or two, why didn't the parents cut off his funds and compel him to return home and be evaluated?

KMA: what is your point about how old is the S of L? Do you think wise philosophy has an expirationRead More date? Let's hope the sonnet by Lazarus is just as meaningful today as then. And, it's part of what makes the USA exceptionally great in the world and time. Of course, some limitations have to be included. These are embodied in the law. The County "lends" $6,000,000 to DMC to keep them open for a few more months. Talk aboutRead More throwing money into a deep hole. We taxpayers will be paying off this debt for years and years, even though the hospital will probably declare bankruptcy and close down. This hospital has been so mismanaged for so many years, and yet the County lends this money to them, without making any changes to management that I have seen.

I can personally attest that it's also possible to catch pertussis even if you've been vaccinated:Read More our younger daughter developed it after being exposed to a classmate who'd gotten it (despite vaccination) and passed it to me (I'd had a booster in 2013). When her pediatrician examined her she prescribed azithromycin for the whole family, and three of the four of us have been symptomatic (and both my daughter and I tested positive). We're now deemed to be past the infection stage; still in the crappy cough stage... none of us got to the "can barely breathe" stage, but I'm getting headaches from all the coughing.

It appears that some common sense is being applied to this situation now. Hopefully aRead More "stabilize and transport" facility can be sustained on the $100 worth of parcel taxes already in place. This is a good example of how a problem can be solved without throwing new tax dollars at it. On another note, this hospital is currently a very highly rated facility. This has not always been the case. The hospital likes to treat privately insured people like myself but frankly I was concerned about the quality of the care. If only the nurses unions had been as concerned about the quality of care in the past as they are about keeping the doors open.
