Hi John! Just got word from BART: "The path is just short of 7 feet wide--the parking lane was 8 feet wide and the poles on the shorter fence are planted 7 feet from the curb. The path can be used by pedestrians and bicyclists; pedestrians and bicyclists can use that path or the sidewalk across Masonic, and bicyclists can use the vehicle traffic lanes on Masonic as well."

As per our story: "Along the closed sections, a temporary path for bikes and pedestrians will be made in the eastern parking lane of Masonic Avenue, separated from traffic by a 4-foot fence." Sounds like it's shared at the current time? I can investigate further if this doesn't seem right.

I'd be interested to run your latest comment as a letter to the editor... but would need an official name that I could confirm. Let me know if that would work for you at any point.
