4th of July at the Berkeley Marina

The 4th of July is a great day to have a lot of

fun.  The biggest party is at the

Berkeley Marina from noon-10PM with all kinds of free fun!  Adventure Playground, always a favorite,

where children can build with hammers, nails, saws, paint and parental

supervision, is open until 8PM.  Get your

face painted, try the giant slide, or splash in the water at the beach!

There’s live entertainment from noon until 9:30PM on the main

stage with headliner Bang Data as featured on Breaking Bad, The Boston Boys,

The Lady Crooners, The Blondies, and The Allman Stepbrothers. On The Buddy Club

Stage in Shorebird Park you’ll find world-renowned juggling and magic acts

including Karen Quest doing Cowgirl Rope Tricks. Tucked in here and there

discover Afro Cuban Drumming; Benjamin Glasgow on Steel Drums; Emeryville

Taiko; Coventry & Kalusa’s Circus Arts; Sean Lee: A One-Man Band; face

painters and balloon twisters. There’s yummy food trucks and booths, handmade crafts, free dragon

boat rowing from 12-5PM, massages, live pony rides and mechanical carnival

rides near Skates, an inflatable bouncy area, mini-train rides, giant slides,

and water bubble ball rides all culminating in the grand fireworks over the

water from the end of the Berkeley Pier at 9:35PM.

Let’s hear it for the red, white, and blue…but keep it green,

too.  The party shouldn’t leave the  environment trashed.  If you can, bring

your own dishes -- Frisbees double as plates!

A bandana is your cloth napkin to use at all of the international food  booths & trucks. With water stations  located around the event, you can refill your own reusable bottle and keep a  lot of plastic out of the landfill.  Use

the recycling stations located throughout the marina for your disposables.

Vehicle parking in the marina is $15 for the day or you can ride  your bike over the Berkeley bicycle overpass and use the free valet parking near  Adventure Playground.  Or take AC Transit  #51B from the Downtown Berkeley BART station and into the marina until 7PM. To  leave on AC Transit after the fireworks, walk out over the freeway overpass to  University and 5th St.   Free admission.

Alcohol-free event.  Free valet  bicycle parking.  Vehicle parking $15.  Walk or bike in after 6PM. Sponsored by the  City of Berkeley, Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream, The Buddy Club, East Bay  Express, BETV, and East Bay Loop.  Event  details at www.AnotherBullwinkelShow.com 510.548.5335.
