An elderly Albany woman waiting for a bus at Solano and Sante Fe avenues was robbed of her purse Friday morning, according to Albany police.
The woman was waiting at a bus stop on the southwest corner of Sante Fe and Solano about 8:30 a.m. when she was approached by a young man in a hoodie, said Detective Sgt. Art Pasoglingnan.
The man grabbed her Louis Vuitton bag, Pasoglingnan said.

The robber fled to a waiting car and got away, he said.
The robber was described as black in his 20s, 5-feet 10-inches tall, heavy-set with dreadlocks and wearing a black and white hoodie that had a bone-related emblem or design on the back. He may also have been wearing a dark knit cap, Pasoglingnan said.
The getaway car was described as a small, two-door burgundy hatchback last seen going south on Sante Fe. No description of the driver was available.
