A New Opportunity for "Greening Albany"

Check out this new volunteer program for interested citizens.

Want to get your hands dirty while helping to keep the City of Albany beautiful?

The Recreation & Community Services Department is looking for individuals or groups interested in volunteering to of the City’s green space.

Your commitment will be for one year and you will set your own work schedule. There will be an initial meeting with City Arborist, Tony Wolcott to review his vision for you specific area. You must provide your own tools and remove all plant debris from your area.

Below is a list in no particular order of sites for this project: • Peralta/Posen island • Ordway/Posen round about • Pomona/Santa Fe islands • Albany Community Center • City Hall • Solano planter boxes Torch area • Key Route median caps at Thousand Oaks, Washington, Portland, and Brighton • Memorial, Terrace, Ocean View, Parks • Tree wells on Brighton at AMS • Albany Senior Center and adjoining property • Tot Lot • The Cove at the waterfront
